Toss Out The Labels

At Joli Collective we challenge you to take on The Labels put on us by society, our culture and social media. These labels may be consciously or subconsciously put on us as they try to define how we should look and dress.
For me personally it has to do with my age. I'm 54, a Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Business Woman and hopefully a Good Friend; those are my labels and they do not define how I should or should not dress.
It's far more important for me to look great (maybe even sexy or strong) while feeling comfortable. I choose fabrics that flatter and feel good on my body and style myself more along my personality than age.
I prefer a little tom boy, mixed in with some crisp sophistication (usually this translates into a new white shirt each season) with a toss of humor (could be an unlikely pattern mix, or anklets with clogs - yup) as I don't like to take myself too seriously.
When I'm styling a client, I like to encourage her to step outside her comfort zones, her "tried and true looks", if you will, and allow her to unveil and celebrate a new side of her dynamic personality.
I always preach to my daughter "You can be whoever you want to be. You are limitless."
I try to practice what I preach while running the Joli Collective and encourage our customers to embrace their dreams while celebrating their intelligence, ambitions and badassness. All of which ends up getting translated into your own personal Style so that this guides what you decide to put on before you walk out the door.
We love to highlight Joli Collective clients in photo editorials to share how wonderfully different each one styles their look for how they live, work and play. We want to show Joli Collective in real life.
